Cleaning & Care

Oh-so-low maintenance

One of the primary advantages to building a Lumberock® composite deck or dock is that the boards require almost no maintenance whatsoever after their installation. Never sand, strip, stain or seal a deck again! Our product saves you from countless hours of upkeep and eliminates the need to spend more money on stains, paints and insect treatments. Lumberock® Premium Decking lets you spend more time enjoying the outdoors and less time keeping it off your deck.

Durability, longevity and simplicity are three characteristics a Lumberock® composite deck or dock promises to uphold. The mineral plastic composite formula used to create Lumberock® puts our product at the forefront of the plastic lumber industry by offering increased strength and decreased thermal expansion while ensuring your boards will never rot, crack, splinter or peel. Lumberock® is impervious to mold, mildew and bacteria and insects will not penetrate our plastic lumber. With our Limited Lifetime Warranty, you can find comfort in knowing that this will be the last deck you ever need to build.

When dirt or debris begin to accumulate on your deck or dock, simply sweep it away, hose it off, or lightly wash the boards with soap and water. Any standard household cleaners can be used without harming the plastic. Occasionally, mold and mildew will form on dirt that has accumulated on the boards, but don't worry, it will not permeate the surface of the board and can be removed with a light pressure washing. We recommend using a maxim of 1800psi with a 20-degree nozzle. The following cleaners will work on our product; Simple Green®, X14® or Lacquer thinner for stubborn stains and CLR® for rust. In the winter months, it is recommended that you use a plastic shovel to help eliminate scratches.

Stains from paint, ink, food, beverages, grease and so on will not adhere to Lumberock® plastic lumber. The non-porous makeup of the board prevents any permanent staining to your deck or dock, and spills are easily washed away. Because the color is consistent throughout the board, small scratches are barely noticeable and applying a little heat to the area can eliminate larger scratches.
